Description
This child of Africa is a victim of what scientist's call "the protein gap." A lack of protein in the diet is main cause of a disease in children called Kwashiorkor . The first symptoms are a swelling of the belly, followed by further disintegration of the body and finally death. The disease is not uncommon in the poor two-thirds of the world.
