The widow of Babe Ruth accepted the American Legion distinguished service medal awarded posthumously to the baseball star for his work with American youth, James F. O'Neill, a past national commander, presented the award to Mrs. Ruth Wednesday in Philadelphia where the legion is holding its 31st national convention.
