Description
New York Mayor John Lindsay presents the home plate at Yankee Stadium to Mrs. Babe Ruth, widow of the home run hitter, at the stadium October 1 in New York. Between them is Mrs. Lou Gehrig, widow of one-time Yankee first baseman Lou Gehrig, to whom Lindsay presented first base. In right foreground is portion of a model of the stadium as it is to appear after renovations over the next two years.
