Working for a company which buys from the Indians, this man piles up kernels in preparation for commercial roasting. Primitive roasting methods are no longer used to a great extent. Bagging - Harvested kernels, which are purplish and almost 3/4 inch long, are placed in sacks preparatory to sale. Teams of Indians can harvest as much as 150 lbs. of rice in a day. Rice.
