Sale of cut-price dresses and suits in aid of the Jewish Palestine appeal.: The battle of the Sinai Dessert was repeated yesterday - on a much more gentle scale. in fact, 15,000 people queued to take part. The a~~asion was the sale of thousands of cut-price dresses and suits in aid of the Jewish Palestine appeal. Sixty of London's leading fashion houses contributed their wares to the sale, which lasted two days. People queued for two hours get into the Lyceum - the ballroom in The Strand, London. Photo Shows the scene inside the Lyceum ballroom during the sale yesterday.
