Governor Luther Hodges of North Carolina talks to newsmen outside the White House tonight after a conference with President Eisenhower and three other southern Governors at which an agreement was reached for withdrawal of federal troops from Little Rock, Ark. The plan is contingent upon formal notice by Arkansas Gov. Orval Faubus that he will not obstruct orders of the Federal Courts for integration in Little Rock's Central High School and will maintain law and order in the Arkansas capital.
