Gen. John E. Hull, a one time Ohio farm boy who next month succeeds Gen. Mark Clark as Commander of the United Nations Forces in the Far Eat, poses at the Pentagon as he discusses his new responsibilities. Hull, a major architect of the plan followed in the invasion of France in World War II says: "My greatest job will be to keep the Army, Navy and Air Force in the Far East ready for combat at any time. We don't intend to be caught with our guards down by any surprise enemy offensive."
