Description

A smiling Bill Rigney, left, whispers in the ear of general manager Fred Haney in Los Angeles today, after Rigney was named manager of the new Los Angeles Angels of the American baseball League. Haney told newsman that Rigney has signed a one-year contract. Rigney managed the San Francisco Giants from 1956 until he was dismissed early in the 1960 pennant race when the club was in second place. The Giants wound up fifth.
