Sports-Ed Knecht, former Oregon State University assistant football coach, was named Tuesday as the new athletic director at the University of Idaho. He replaces Paul Ostyn, Knecht was an assistant at Idaho under coach Dee Andros, moving to OSU with Andros four years ago.
