Checking on Head Man-These ladies had more than a passing interest in the action on the gridiron as Washington State defeated Stanford 29-23 at Albi Stadium last weekend. They are Mrs. Bert Clark, (left) wife of Washington State University's head coach, and Mrs. Bert Clark Senior, his mother. The elder Mrs. Clark flew into Spokane, Washington, from Wichita Falls, Texas, to witness her son's debut as head football coach. If Bert is superstitious he may keep his mother here the rest of the season.
