Here is a comprehensive exclusive photo study or Red Russia mirrored in the faces of he men and women on the street from Red Square in Moscow to Baku on the Caspian Sea. They were taken by Richard Elden, a junior at Northwestern University during a three week trip which covered 5,000 miles through the U.S.S.R. These Photos and the others which will follow provide this decade's longest closest look by the free world at the fearful land of the Iron curtain, there are ten pictures in this group made on an eventful and heretofore forbidden swing from Moscow through Odessa, Baku, Kharkov, Kiev, Mtskheta and Gori in purges and troubled Georgia, the Birthplace of Joseph Stalin.
