1931 Press Photo Archaeologists Plan To Start A Mayan Expedition

Charles K. Lawrence and Harvard graduate, recently announced at the San Diego, California museum that he had discovered the starting point of the Mayan chronology. The Mayan near year 1, he said, was 5,044,515 years ago. He is leaving in late November from San Diego with A. Frederic Gronberg (left) and John A. Corbin on another expedition in quest of a lost Mayan city Lawrence discovered from the air last year. This expedition will be afoot.
