President Roosevelt called a conference today among railroad executives in an attempt to stave off a general railroad strike now set for December 7th. A one-hour meeting with all parties involved, but the heads of the unions departed with the assertion that, "the strike is still on". Photo shows group leaving White House, Left to right: John J.
