Pleading with Congress to '"allay the fears of millions of American mothers" that their sons may gain fight in Europe, Senator Allen J. Ellender (D) of Louisiana today be written into the lease-lend bill bearing the dispatch of another A.E.F. to foreign soil. Taking the floor Ellender appealed to Democrats and Republicans alike to support his amendment, claiming that 1940 platforms of both major parties had declared against fighting wars abroad. Photo shows; Senator Allen J. Ellender of Louisiana at the conclusion of his speech on the Senate floor.
