Photograph made at the start of peace conversations between England and the Soviet. Capt Anthony Eden (L), British Lord Privy Seal, represents England, while Maxim Litvinov (C), Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, represents Russia. At the right is I. Maisky, the Soviet Envoy to England. After 3 days pass of talk, a joint statement was issued in which it was stated both England and Russia should cooperate in collective efforts for peace and that there is now no conflict of interest between the 2 Governments of any international issues, particularly concerning Germany.
