1933 Press Photo Mrs. Allie Mae Purvis Convicted for Murdering Husband

Mrs. Allie Mae Purvis, 38 year old grandmother of Bogalusa, La., who unless a high authority intervenes, will be the second white woman in the history of Louisiana to be hanged and oddly enough each was convicted of complicity in the murder of her husband. Mrs. Purvis confessed to New Orleans Police that she bribed Loys Richardson, her yard boy to kill her husband by pushing him into Pearl River, on July 13th.
