News that the Laughton-Harrison Tax-Revision Bill, including all the Amendments by the Senate, was accepted by the house, was joyfully received by Senator Peter Gerry, left, of Rhode Island and Senator Harry Byrd of Virginia. It was they who led the fight against so called "Nuisance Taxes" which, it is claimed, is responsible for the sluggishness in industry particular tax to get the axe is the undistributed profits tax. The bill is expected to meet with early approval by President Roosevelt.
