The Dies hearing on Un-American Activities was enlivened when Rep. John J.Dempsey assailed publication by the Committee of a Washington Membership and Mailing list of the American League for Peace and Democracy as most damble and most UnAmerican Action. Rep Noah Mason who first suggested the list be made public shouted back at Dempsey "It is too bad baby you didn't go on record"
