James D. Roosevelt, 17, fifth cousin of President Roosevelt, stands on a dock in New York after his arrival June 30 from Europe on the Swedish Liner Drottningholm. He had been living at Lynds in unoccupied France with his mother since the German invasion forced him to flee his native Paris. He is to join his father in Haiti.

Photo is dated 1942.
