1959 Press Photo Joe Wilman returns to bowling after suffering from heart attack

Joe Wilman, 53 year old Chicago veteran who ranks as one of the bowling's greats, returned to action last night, just a year after suffering a heart attack while bowling in the American Bowling Congress singles. Wilman rolled a 536 for the Knoll Hamm's team of Chicago. He will roll in the doubles today but the ABC has postponed his singles competition to layer in the meet. Wilman's doctor won't let him bowl 6 games in one day. Wilman won all events titles in ABC play twice (1939-1946) and was on the winning ABC team twice (1942-54) He also won the national match games title once and the national doubles twice.
