Dr. Daniel Francis Malan, South Africa's 74 year old preacher politician and former premier made apartheid an international word. Malan shown with his wife during a 1953 visit to England, led the Afrikaner Nationalist party to power in 1948 and changed the moderate segregation policy to an instrument for humiliating nonwhite races in South Africa.
