1938 Press Photo William Bullitt wears a fashionable hat on his way to Nassau

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
William Bullitt, United States Ambassador to France, is pictured during a stop over in Miami on his way to Nassau for a two week vacation. The Ambassadorial hat is a nifty model of Pork Pie design, quite a lid. Incidentally, envoy Bullitt, who keeps a questing finger on the fluttery pulse of Europe, said he believed there is "no general war danger at the moment."

Photo is dated 1938.

Photo measures 5 x 7.25 inches.
