Governor Henry Horner of Illinois, because of ill health and on the advise of his physicians, voluntarily withdrew from his third term race for governor and Harry Hershey, chairman of the Democratic State Central Committee of Taylorville Illinois. Shown above, was selected by the committee to head the ticket in governor Horner's place.
