In Japan, a baby is born Shinto, and a priest in Tokyo attends to the ceremony. The same person will die Buddhist. A casual switching or sharing of religious is common in Japan. Historically, each faith has held sway in turn-- and today each faith attracts disenchanted Japanese from time to time in their lives.
