A young resident of the Vanderbgilt Avenue Bergen Street neighborhood of Brooklyn swings garbage can at Stewart Lawrence's retreating rear during melee last night. Lawrence, a member of the W.E.E. DeBois club, was one of the members who gathered for a meeting of protect in the Park Slope area. The club is made up of college age youngsters allegedly of leftist leanings. The club members ran into about 150 residents of the area who were angered by the gathering. The fracas ensued and six of the DeBois boy were arrested.
