Description
Seven coffins rest in West Berlin's City Hall Square during the City's and West Germany's national tribute to their dead in the East. Six coffins draped in the national colors contained bodies of Berliners slain in outbreak against Red rule. A seventh was covered with flowers, but empty. It was there in memory of William Goettling, unemployed Berlin truck driver executed by a Soviet firing squad.
Photo measures 8.5 x 7.25 in.
