He served as a Republican in the United States House of Representatives during the 1940s and took part in the post-World War II Nuremberg Trials.After serving in the U.S. Army during the First World War, La Follette studied law at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, and was admitted to the bar in 1925.
