Made possible by $250,000 in gifts to the University, a modern research plan establishes the first Medical Physics laboratory in the world, representing a union of medicine, chemistry, bacteriology, biology and genetics governed by a five man team of scientists. Leader of the group is Dr. John H. Lawrence who is in charge of medical investigations with the cyclotron developed by his Nobel Prize winning brother Dr. E. O. Lawrence. Left to right, the five man research team: Dr. Joseph G. Hamilton, medical chemist; Dr. Paul Aebersold, physicist; Dr. Robert S. Stone, radiologist, Dr. Alfred G.
