Description

Nathaniel Welbeck, Ghana charge d'affaires in Leopoldville, Congo, waves as he meets with reporters at his Leopoldville home. He left for home ending a 12 hour battle between United Nations troops and the Congolese army. Fighting broke out when Welbeck at first refused to leave as ordered by Army Commander Col. Joseph Mobutu who accused him of plotting against the Mobutu regime.
