Description

Photo measures 11 x 8 in. The leader of a group of school busing protesters attempts to quiet the crowd as Senator Edward M. Kennedy waits to speak to the group of nearly 10,000 people in Boston. Kennedy did not get to speak to them but was whisked off the platform when the crowd started chanting insults at him. Several tomatoes were thrown at him as he was escorted into the John F. Kennedy office building nearby.
