1983 Press Photo Geese taking flight from Horicon Marsh, Wisconsin - mjb76199

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Geese take to the air after being disturbed while they were feeding in a cutover field west of the Horicon Marsh. Geese are beginning to come to the marsh area from their summer home in Northern Canada. While staying at Horicon until the marsh freezes, the geese make daily flights to feed in cornfields for miles around. After freezeup, the geese will fly south, with most of them stopping for the winter in southern Illinois. Horicon Marsh
