The checkout lines were busy Sunday afternoon after Outpost Natural Foods opened at its new location at 100 E. Capitol Dr. The new location has about three times the space as the former one on N. Holton St., and Outpost says it is now the largest natural food store in the Midwest. The new store has a bakery, a fresh meat section and a selection of organic produce that is says is the largest in the state. Outpost was founded as a buying club in 1970. It is now a cooperative with 2,400 owners. Sales for the fiscal year ending July 31, 1989, were $2 million.
