1989 Press Photo Gerald Mayhew of Oak Creek displays a plaque he helped secure

A show of Patriotism- Gerald Mayhew, 78 of Oak Creek, displayed one of five plaques he placed secure for the city to mark the 200th anniversary of the US Constitution. Mayhew is program chairman for the city's Bicentennial Commission. The bronze plaques, which cost $4,000 total, include a replica of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Meyer-Dziedzic Post 8482 and the Ladies Auxiliary provided financing. The plaques will be dedicated from 1 to 3 p.m September 17 at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Rd. After the ceremonies, the plaques will be displayed at City Hall, 8640 S. Howell Ave.
