West Minister Cathedral Treasures to be placed on Exhibition: Members of the public will have the opportunity of seeing the treasures of West minister Cathedral for the first time this month -When they are placed on exhibition. Photo Shows (Left) Pix.Solid gold. The only example of Catholic plate made in England in the reign of Charles 1-seen at today's press view. (Right) Our Lady's Crown.1929. Designed and executed by Mr.Omar Randene. There are nearly 400 stones worked in to the design. These, together with the gold were collected together by Fr. J.L.Dove, given by numerous benefactors out of love for the Mother of god. The principal decorative features consist of the star and Fleur-de-lys. The solid band of the crown is the "River of life"flowing between pearls and coloured precious stones.The Symbolic colouring resolves itself in to gold for the earth, pearls and diamonds for purity and blue for heaven.
