Treasure From The Abbey On Show At St. James's Palace.. Priceless Relics of The Past... The closing of Westminster Abbey in order that Coronation Preparations can be carried out - has made it possible for a number of the famous Abbey relics and treasures to be exhibited to the Public.. The exhibition is being held at St. James's Palace - and has been authorised by H.M. The Queen. These exhibition includes a priceless collection of 17th. century silder-gilt flagons, cups and other plate no longer used on the altar. The Articles on show - documents with royal signatures - portraits, vestments, altar cloths and candle sticks spans seven centuries.. Some of the items are normally locked away and include the Coronation Gold Plate, crimson and gold copes fashioned for the crowning of Charles II - historic statues - embroideries - and a priceless contemporary portrait of Richard II..
