The £1,000,000 Bank Robbery In London: During the weekend a gang, which included a woman, looted 250 safe deposit boxes in the strong room of Lloyd's Bank in Baker Street, London W.1. They tunneled into the vaults of the bank from an empty shop two doors away. During the raid the gang were talking to each other by walkie-talkie radio. Listening-in from his flat in Wimpole Street was Ham radio operator Robert Rowlands, who informed the police-they in turn call out most of the bank managers throughout the london aera to check there banks for the bank raiders. They even checked the bank in Baker St in which the gang was operating, but as the bank vault was still locked they left it.
