Egyptian Sentenced to Death in Cario Spy Trail. Sentence on Britons Deferred.. An Egyptian court today deferred sentence on four Britons accused of spying against Egypt. An Egyptian accused 51 year old Amin Mahmoud a school teacher was sentenced to death. It is understood that this action means that the court was not prepared to ask for any other death sentences in the trial. Twenty people are being tried. The prosecution had previously demanded the death sentence on two of the Britons before the court James Swinburn a Cairo business manager and James Zarb a 37 year old Maltose businessman. They are all accused to gathering military information for Britain at a time when Egypt was at war with Israel. Photo shows Amin Mahmoud after he had been sentenced to death today.
