Description
Winter Sports in Scotland: Scotland's biggest ski lift has just been opened in the Cairngorn Mountains 30 miles south of Inverness. Winter sports have now become big business in Scotland instead of a prank as in previous years. The Speyside hoteliers have combined to start the Cairgorm Development Association and put £120,000 into improving sports facilities. Already crowd of English and Scottish visitors are enjoying skiing with similar facilities to those in Switzerland and Austria. The new chair life takes the sports enthusiasts to the top of the Cairngorms with the choice of several runs down. The season is expected to last until April or early May. Photo shows a Christmas card scene of the nursery slopes on the Cairngorms.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 01-01-1962.
