Prince Charles turns Peacemaker: During a visit to the Moonshot Centre for youngster at Lewisham, yesterday, Prince Charles intervened in a demonstration - Scotland Yard are embarrassed over this as the Prince unwittingly involved the police in a row over criminal case which is sub judice. It happened as the Prince was leaving the Moonshot centre - a crowd outside with anti-police banners demonstrating against the arrest of 24 youth on mugging charges. "I must go across and see them," said Prince Charles. He asked them "What's the din about". Demon leader Kim Gordon, wearing a "Stuff the Jubilee" baggie told him they were complaining of alleged police brutality again the "Lowisham 24" and of "Continued police harassment of black youths in the area". Prince Charles replated "I am sure there is some truth on both sides, but couldn't you come together and discuss it"? Then commander Gouglas Randall, London 'P' Division chief whose men made the original arrests came over and he and the prince had a talk, as Scotland Yard was to explain "I was agreed to tall the matter over with the leaders of the demonstrators". Before leaving, Charles told the crowd "See if you can sort things out further. You cannot go around like this." Last night Kim Gordon who is a full time official for Flame, the black section of the Socialist Worker's Party, called the Prince "Naive" but said the encounter was "encouraging". Photo Shows Kim Gordon sporting his "stuff the Jubilee" badge talking with prince Charles as commando Randall looks on.
