12-Year Old Kim Keeps Her Vow: 12-Year old Kim Pearl wanted to learn a sport she could be good at, as she was unable to play the ordinary 12-yerar old games of hockey, tennis, rounders of netball with the gusto of other girls. For Kim become a polio victim eight years ago. Her father did not waste time arguing when she told him "Daddy, I am going to teach myself to water-ski I must" - for is a very determined little girl. Nor was he surprised when he was succeeded water ski, Kim is just as determined to keep in practise,. They had to break the ice yesterday at Rickmandworth Aquardrome in Hertfordshire, So that he could skim along at 20 mph. Hr father, Mr. Peter Pearl told now Kim became interested in water ski-ing. "I took up the sport myself about five years ago,"he said. "Of course Kim wanted to join in, and three years ago I tried taking her first on the back of many skis and then on the front. It was not very successful. "Then Kim came up with the answer herself about six months ago when she decided to go-it-alone. "Due to the after effects of polio, she cannot control her right leg property. "We got over that difficulty by fastening a nylon rope to both skis to prevent the right one sliding away from under her".
