1966 Press Photo Scene where police were shot to death

Three Policemen shot down in a London street: In London yesterday afternoon three London Policemen were shot down in the street. The triple shooting took place in Braybrook Street Sheperd's Bush which faces Wormwood Scrubs Prison. The three CID officers were chasing a car-a Blue Standard Vanguard down Braybrook Street when shotgun Blasts rang out and the three police officers lay dead. Two were shot in the head and the other in the back. The three officers were, Detective-Sargent Head aged 30 and unmarried, who was in charge of the Q-Car, Constable Wombwell 25, married with two children and Constable Fox aim also married with three children. Immediately an all London Alert was raised and every CID officer in West London was taken from duty he help in the hunt for the Killers. The police are looking for four men who are thought to have taken part in the shooting. Photo shows the scene in Braybrook Street, Shepherd's Bush, after the shooting.
