Forniture Arrives At Woburbn Abbey In A Variety Of Conveyances: The descended on Webourn Abbey yesterday with Assorted pieces of a furniture in a variety of conveyances. There were man in balloons, in glidrens and men attached , with their furniture, to parachutes. Their common aim was to win $1,000 prize for the most original way of transporting old Furniture to the Duke of Bedford, Stanley Home. The most original form of goods transport, it was judged, also happened to be the oldest. Twenty five boys from Cedars School, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, pulled six f their school desks two miles to the Abbet on a "slave-drawn" chariot". The desks, it was stated were donated by the boys headmaster. The contest was sponsored by the furniture industry whose slogan is "Old Furniture must go". It went. They burned the lot.Photo Shows Student Edward Perrott, 20, and Richard Frenkel, 20 from Jesus College, Cambridge did a 60 mile trip in four days up the rivers Cam and Cuzen on a bed - seen here on a Weburn lake.
