Description
German-American Festival of Rifle-Men in Garmisch â The first German-American festival of rifle-men with firearms was held in Garmisch on September 12th and 13th, 1953. For this purpose the American army placed at the disposal of the rifle-men 10,000 cartridges. All types of rifles were there, also these who had been hidden since the end of the war. They were shooting at a distance of 130 meters, freehand-shooting on targets, miniature-rifle shooting and pistols, but also clay-pigeon shooting. Representatives of well-known Bavarian rifle-men clubs, American officers and G.I.âs had their noble contest during which they also drank quite a lot of beer and coca-cola. When the targets were no more to be seen in the darkness then the shooting was stopped. Besides there was also a contest of German and American anglers at the same occasion. There they were showing how far they could throw the angle and also throwing the angle into a fixed target, etc. Ladies to the front! It looks a bit strange and may be that there will be no right result. Then she better likes to have a look only.
