Lonrho Chief Says `130,000 For Duncan Sandys Was Fair: Mr. Roland "Tiny" Rowland, chief executive and managing director of Lonrho, said yesterday his decision to pay Mr. Duncan Sandys `130,000 compensation for the ending of the former Cabinet Minister's consultancy agreement with the company was taken after it had been carefully considered by himself, Mr. Angus Ogilvy, then a director, and the then chairman of Lonrho, Mr. Allan Ball. In evidence read to the High Court in the case in which he is fighting a move by eight fellow directors to sack him, Mr. Rowland stated that Mr. Ogilvy, Princess Alexandra's husband, was one of those who decided on the amount. "We decided that `130,000 would be fair and reasonable", stated Mr. Rowland.
