New Legal year Opens in Britain. European Lawyers Attend: The new Legal year in Britain opened yesterday with the time-honored service at Westminster Abbey and the colorful procession of judges to the law Courts in the strand. Lord Gardiner, the lord Chancellor, headed the long line of robed judges who took part in the ceremony. And watching from his side lines was one of Western Germany's women judges, Dr. Maria Dauchler, who presides over a court at hamburg. Though she were black, legal robes, she was not present in an official capacity, but had accomplished her husband, Dr. Werner- Deuchler, who represented the German Bar Association. He was one of & 24 European Lawyers who took part in traditional procession, the first time in history that foreign lawyers had joined in the ceremony. They came from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Italy and Luxembourg, as well as West Germany, and were guests of the lord Chancellor.
