Orangutan baby in Munihc/West Germany Zoo Hellabrunn
One bottle-baby more - there is, since a short time in the Munich/West-Germany zoo Hellabrunn! The little "Zampano", who now hadn't long to please to drink by animal keeper Barbel, was in his first weeks a true "problem-child". At his birth the weight of the little animal was only 1724 grams and he was nearly frozen, when he got found in the morning also he had a heavy navel infection which must be operated and additional he showed no feeding reflex, so he had to feed all three hours around the clock with a probe. Later "Zampano" started to drink without help, and now he is over the hill. In the meantime the son of "Bruno" (born 1969 as a sensational orangutan twin in Hellabrunn) and "Tessy" reached a weight of 32oo grams.
