75 Birthday of actor Heinz Ruehmann.: On March 7, 1977 Heinz Ruehmann, who has been the most popular and successful German actor for decades, celebrates his 75 birthday. He was born in Essen in 1902, left Grammar School at the age of 17 and went on th Munich Stages. In 1920 he made his debut at the theatre of Breslau, then played at theatres in Hanover, Bremen and Munich. since 1925 Heinz Ruehmann was a member of ensemble of the Munich "kammerspiele". "Bombs on Mote Carlo", " The Gasman", "A Model Husband" were films he become famous for during the pre-war-time. After the Second World War he again was on the stage but could not get a firm footing there.His performances on stage in Vienna, during the Sixties, however, were very successful. There he played the lead in "My friend Harvey" and "Death of a Salesman" ed: "Postman Mueller", "Charlie's Aunt", "A Sunday Child", "The Fire-Tongs", "Claret- Cup", "The Grinder", 'Hocus-Pocus", "The Brave Soldier Schweijk" and, of course, "The captain of Koepnick" (s.o.p) and last but not least "The Chinese Wonder".
