Flamingo Ball in Munich's Bayerischer Hof.: On Oct. 08 1973 Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, who is also chairman of World Wildlife Fund, was host of this beneficiary ball in Munich. In order to collect donations for the important mission to safe endangered wild life in Africa, Prince Bernhard invited the members of the international high society as well as prominent businessmen, politicians and stars of TV and Film. Among the more than 500 illustrous guests there were also his daughter Beatrix and husband Claus Von Amsbergh, the German Minister of the Interior Mr. Genscher and Mr. Scheel, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The entertainments were contributed by Karel Gott, "the voice of Prague", the Les Humphries Singers and blues singer Donna Hightower.
