The Radio Telescope ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At The Royal Radar Establishment: The Ministry of Aviation has ~~~~~ at the Royal Radar Establishment a new installation for astronomical and upper atmosphere research. The equipment, which is on the ~~ ~~~ of a former airfield at Defford, near Ma~~~~~ consists of two steerable and mobile ~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ with parabolic reflectors which can be used either separately or in conjunction as an ~~~~~romater. The radio telescopes can be operated over a wide range of wavelength down to a few centimeters and their spacing can be varied up to about 1,000 meters in any orientation for interferometric observations of high angular resolution.
