Jailbirds In Love: A liberation has come to Denmark that will probably send the world into a spin that has never been equalled before. The institution that is causing the controversey is the Ringe prison on the island of Funen. The reason for the controversey is that the prison authorities have allowed male and female prisoners to mix! Each day, prisoners of the opposite sex are allowed to visit each other for one hour and at week-ends they are allowed two hours together. It is thought that by mixing together, individual couples may be able to help each other in their efforted to keep out of trouble with the law and apparently, prison authorities all over Europe are watching this experiment with great interest. The atmosphere has become so intimate that if a couple wanted to be left alone for a couple of hours, no one would disturb them and they would be left in peace to do what ever they wanted. Although these rules apply only to those people that are not engaged or married outside the prison. It is expected that in the near future, couples will move into the same prison block and live together, but as has been pointed out by the prison govenor at the Rimge prison, there is one small problem. There are only six female prisoners and there are fifty three male prisoners! And that is one of a problem for some of the inmates!
